About
The Brigham Young Family Cemetery is located just northeast of Temple Square in downtown Salt Lake City. It is the burial place of Brigham Young, the second President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who was laid to rest here following his death on August 29, 1877. Several of his family members are also buried in this private cemetery, which once stood on his property.
Today, the site offers a quiet setting to step away from the busyness of downtown and reflect on the human side of history. It invites visitors to consider how individual lives and beliefs can shape communities for generations.
