About
Brigham Young Historic Park preserves a small portion of land once owned by the Brigham Young family in the heart of Salt Lake City. In the 1800s, this area included barns, orchards, gardens, and stone walls that marked the family’s property. A rebuilt section of the original cobblestone wall can still be seen along the park’s eastern edge.
Today, the park offers a calm, landscaped setting with statues honoring the early Latter-day Saints who helped establish the city. A stream from City Creek flows through the park, powering a waterwheel near a small performance stage where free concerts are sometimes held.
Surrounded by busy downtown streets, the park is a place to sit, walk, and enjoy nature. Nearby walking paths lead toward historic neighborhoods and Memory Grove, another park honoring Utah’s veterans.
