The Isaiah 2:2 Monument stands in the plaza near the Church Office Building, just east of Temple Square. The stone is inscribed with words from the Old Testament prophet Isaiah: “And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains.”

For Latter-day Saints, this scripture is understood as pointing to temples built in the latter days, including the Salt Lake Temple, which stands near the base of the Wasatch Mountains.

Temples are called houses of the Lord in honor of Jesus Christ. He is the center of temple worship and His gospel invites people from every nation to come, learn, and find peace in Him.
