The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square Rehearsals
Weekly rehearsals of The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square give visitors a unique opportunity to experience the music, preparation, and spirit behind one of the world’s most recognized choirs. Open to the public, these Thursday evening rehearsals allow guests to observe the Choir and Orchestra as they refine music for performances and broadcasts, including Music & the Spoken Word.
The Choir’s 360 volunteer members come from many professions and backgrounds, united by a shared love of music and faith in Jesus Christ. Accompanied by the Orchestra at Temple Square, the ensemble has performed throughout the world and recorded more than 150 albums.
Held inside the historic Salt Lake Tabernacle, rehearsals offer a chance to appreciate not only the music itself, but also the care, discipline, and collaboration that shape each performance. Many guests enjoy hearing sections repeated, refined, and brought together in the Tabernacle’s remarkable acoustics.
Rehearsals are generally held Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and are free and open to the public. Schedules and locations may occasionally change during holidays or special events.

Located inside the Church History Museum, this store offers books, jewelry, art prints, and souvenirs connected to the history and faith of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Restoration of the Aaronic Priesthood
This statue depicts John the Baptist appearing to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery in 1829. He restored the Aaronic Priesthood, the same authority he used to baptize Jesus Christ. It reminds us that Christ’s power to bless, cleanse, and guide has been restored to the earth.

Joseph Smith's First Vision
This statue portrays a sacred moment when Joseph Smith prayed and was answered by God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. It marks the beginning of the restored gospel and invites visitors to reflect on prayer and personal guidance from God.

Restoration of Sealing Keys
In this scene, the Old Testament prophet Elijah appears to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery. He restored priesthood sealing power to them so that, through Jesus Christ, marriages and families can continue forever with peace and joy.

This statue marks the 1829 restoration of priesthood authority when Peter, James, and John appeared to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery. It affirms the belief that Jesus Christ restored His gospel and His power to bless God’s children.
