About
The Heavens Are Opened shares the early history of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through film, artifacts, and interactive storytelling. The experience begins with a dramatic theater presentation of Joseph Smith’s First Vision, placing visitors in the moment that set the Restoration in motion.
Moving through the exhibit, you’ll encounter original documents, artifacts, and recreated environments that tell the story of building Christ’s restored church. Displays explore the translation of the Book of Mormon, the organization of the Church, and the challenges faced by early members as they sought to follow revelation and build communities of faith.
Interactive elements, maps, and media experiences help historical stories come to life, especially for youth and families. The Heavens Are Opened invites all to consider how Heavenly Father continues to speak to His children and how there is guidance through faith in Jesus Christ.
