Come, Follow Me
A statue depicting the moment Jesus Christ invited His first disciples to drop their fishing nets and to come follow Him.
50 West North Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84150
About
The Come, Follow Me statue on Temple Square portrays a pivotal moment from the New Testament, when Jesus Christ called His first disciples. Walking along the Sea of Galilee, He saw Peter and Andrew tending their nets after a long, unsuccessful night of fishing. At His instruction, they cast their nets once more and were astonished when they filled with fish.
Jesus then invited them, saying, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19). Without hesitation, Peter and Andrew left their nets and followed Him.
This moment marks the beginning of discipleship. The statue invites all to consider Christ’s invitation in their own lives and to reflect on the peace, purpose, and lasting joy that come from choosing to follow Jesus Christ.
