About
Currently closed for renovation. Reopening spring 2027.
Located on the north side of Temple Square, the Temple Entrance Buildings serve as welcoming gateways to the Salt Lake Temple. Designed to mirror the nearby Visitors’ Center pavilions, these spaces help prepare hearts and minds for sacred worship inside the temple.
While temple worship itself takes place beyond the entrance buildings, the pavilions provide peaceful areas where families, wedding guests, and visitors can gather before and after important moments. These gathering areas are often filled with joyful anticipation as loved ones wait for temple worshippers or welcome newly married couples following sacred wedding sealing ceremonies.
Visitors are welcome to respectfully enter the buildings and enjoy the quiet atmosphere and beautiful artwork. Large Tiffany-style art glass windows portray the resurrected Jesus Christ appearing to Mary at the tomb and Christ blessing children.
As literal doors to the house of the Lord, the Temple Entrance Buildings act as reminders that temples are places of peace, sacred promises, and joyful connection with God and loved ones.
